Alan Chane

Alan J. Chane graduated from South Plantation High School in Broward County, Florida in 1975 and accepted the Deicke Scholarship to study Business Administration at Broward Community College beginning in the fall of that year. He graduated from Nova University (Broward County, Florida) in 1979 with a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Business Administration. He became a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker in 1978 and has over 40 years of experience in real estate sales, ownership and management. He is currently a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker. At the age of 23, he was honored as the #1 listing and sales agent for Century 21 TransWorld Realty, which was located in Plantation, Florida. By 27, he owned over 200 residential apartments. At twenty eight, he became the Managing General Partner of Bahia Cabana Beach Resort, a Fort Lauderdale, Florida landmark hotel, 200+ seat Waterfront Patio Bar/Restaurant and Marina. In 15 years under his guidance, sales grew from just over $1.5 million dollars to over $5,500,000 annually. EBITDA grew from approximately $250,000 to over $1,250,000 annually during that time. In his tenure at Bahia Cabana, Alan personally coordinated an annual golf tournament that raised over one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for various children's charities, sponsored softball teams and tournaments, and for ten years personally sponsored a scholarship to Broward Community College, sending a graduate of South Plantation High School to college to repay his good fortune. He was elected to consecutive three year terms on the Board of Governors of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Council, where he served until he sold the resort in September, 2000. After selling Bahia Cabana, Alan formed HSH Colonial LLC for the purpose of acquiring the 230 unit Downtown Orlando Travelodge Motel in December, 2003 which became a HomeSuiteHome extended stay apartment motel property. Within 99 days of acquisition, the property was remodeled, repainted, rebranded and 100% occupied. It has remained over 96% occupied since April, 2004. Alan is married to Abbe, and has two sons, Harrison and Dylan.
